Tutorials: What is a Non-Original part?

Posted by Karene on 31st Jan 2016

We sometimes get questions about generic, non generic, original, and genuine. What do these labels mean? On our site, we refer to these words to describe a product's origin and manufacturer. The terms "Generic", "Non-original", and "non-OEM" all mean that these are NOT manufactured by the original brand. For example, we carry a variety of generic Rolex parts, but that means that these parts ARE NOT manufactured by Rolex.

In contrast, when a product is marked "Genuine" this means it is true to it's name or style. A genuine Rolex Crystal is manufactured by Rolex. Also, a "Genuine Crocodile Band" means that the band is indeed made of crocodile skin, rather than calfskin that has been stamped with a crocodile pattern.

Make sure to shop our selection for either original or non-original bands and parts.
