Before repairing any watch you should test the watch battery to see if the watch battery has any energy left. Watchmaterial carries different types of watch testers, which include simple battery testers or even sophisticated timing machine testers. A battery tester will test your watch battery to make sure that the battery is dead before you replace it. Quartz pulse testers test your coil or circuit to see if they are working properly. A timing machine tester will test if your mechanical watch is keeping time and it will allow you to adjust the regulator so it will run properly. 

Waterproof testers are special testers made by Bergeon. These waterproof testers test the watch case seals and gaskets to prevent water leakage when diving.
