Kinetic watches run on motion or movement. They do not need light to run on time. Kinetic watch batteries are recharged through the kinetic energy of movement of the watch. Kinetic movements have a self winding weight that is recharged with movement. Any movement recharges the battery, which is then stored in the battery, which is then used when the watch is not moving to keep the time. Capacitor has a life that's much longer than a regular battery. Some popular Seiko models that use capacitors are the Arctura, Sportura, Veletura models.
